Lane Tech College Prep High School (Lane Tech) is seeking candidates for the position of Head Football Coach who will assist Lane Tech in creating an exemplary football program and in producing outstanding student-athletes

The Head Football Coach position may be combined with a full time teaching position in a number of academic areas; however, no guarantee of a teaching position can be made.

Preference may be given to current Lane Tech faculty and staff and to other Chicago Public Schools personnel.

The Head Coach will be responsible for providing leadership and direction for all levels of the football program at Lane Tech including organization and coordination of all levels of play, scheduling, and budgeting. The Head Coach will assist with the selection and management of assistant varsity coaches and coaches of freshman, sophomore and junior varsity teams. The Head Coach is responsible for coordinating football related fundraising and public relations activities within the school, the Football Booster Club, and the community. The Head Coach is expected to collaborate with other coaches and physical education staff at Lane Tech to ensure that the overall athletic program at Lane Tech is one of the best in the State of Illinois.

Head Football Coach Position Qualifications and Duties:
• Develop program philosophies that are well executed and transparent to athletes and parents.
• Foster an engaging, positive atmosphere of discipline and accountability.
• Foster a culture of support and leadership that will help student athletes grow and develop on and off the field.
• Demonstrate the ability to increase the football knowledge, skills and expertise of players and staff.

• Demonstrate the ability to design clinics, staff meetings, summer camps, and off-season programs.

• Analyze staff effectiveness and contribute to the overall evaluation and growth of all assistants.
• Participate in the budgeting process with the Athletic Director and Principal.
• Possess the capacity for maintaining good public relations with news media, parents, and officials.
• Encourage multisport participation and create an atmosphere that is conducive to participation in other sports and extracurricular activities.
• Communicate effectively with students, faculty, staff, parents, alumni and boosters.
• Establish and maintain a professional development plan for coaching staff.
• Have or be able to obtain an Illinois High School teaching certificate if seeking a teaching position.

Head Football Coach

The Beyond Sports Foundation is a registered 501(c)(3) non-profit organization that uses the power of sport to transform lives by turning athletic ability into life opportunity. The Beyond Sports Foundation prepares student athletes to succeed in life. Our student athletes typically come from under-resourced families in under-served communities, and will need financial assistance in order to attend college. Many of our student athletes are from populations that are under-represented on college campuses.

Chicago Christian is a 96 year old Christian high school located on the southwest side of Chicago in Palos Heights, IL. The football program competes in the east division of the Metro Suburban Conference and in class 2A for the Illinois High School Association. We have been rebuilding the program for the last few years and have seen growth from an 0-9 season in 2011, to 2-7 in 2012 and 2013, to 4-5 in 2014. We are looking for our next coach to lead us back to playoffs, a goal achieved 9 straight years from 2000-2008.
The minimum requirements for the position are:
1. A strong Christian commitment
2. At least 5 years of coaching experience at the high school level or higher
3. PE state certified teacher, with emphasis on strength training and fitness
In addition to the minimum requirements, we are looking for a passionate and energetic candidate who has strong leadership skills and character that can develop student athletes through building strong personal relationships. Responsibilities of the head varsity football coach include oversight of the entire football program, off season weight room management and hosting summer camps. The head varsity football coach reports directly to the athletic director.
Preference will be given to coaches who have teaching or administrative credentials, but consideration may be given to off-campus coaches if needed.

Previous experience required (in coaching or competing in pole vault). Commitment would include: practices at least twice a week and all meets starting in February through mid-May; responsible for training technique on pole vault as well as strength training in the weight room for those particular athletes; responsible for monitoring weight of athlete and use of appropriate poles.
