| 8/30/2010 | University of St. Francis offering Administraor's Academy this fall.
The University of St. Francis is excited to be offering Administrative Academy (Certificate Renewal Credits for those holding Type 75 Certificates) this fall. These workshops are ISBE approved and will be instructed by John Van Fleet (The Professional Development and Leadership Training Institute Coordinator for the Illinois Athletic Director's Association). John is an experienced instructor and has instructed at the state, regional, and national levels. John's official title with the IADA is Leadership Training Institute Coordinator. He also trains and certifies a State Faculty for these courses. John was notified this August that he will be honored by the National Interscholastic Athletic Administrators Association with the presentation of the Fourth Annual Frank Kovalesi Professional Development Award for 2010. This award honors individuals who have made significant contributions at the local, state, regional, and national level to professional development for athletic administrators. The workshops will take place at the Twin Oaks Building located at 3033 West Jefferson Street, Joliet, IL 60435, Suite # 105. Time: 8:30 a.m. – 3:30 p.m. Cost: $225.00 (cost includes continental breakfast and lunch)

I need your help in planning for the 2011 State Conference in Peoria next spring. The committee needs your suggested mini-session topics and/or speakers for these sessions. If you have an idea – email it to me. If you wish to speak on a topic – email it to me. If you know of someone who is good and you can suggest I contact – email that to me. This is your conference and we want to try to get things that you want to hear or learn about. Any and all ideas are welcome. Thanks in advance.

| | 7/19/2010 | John VanFleet to recive Frank Kovoleski National Award
We recently recieved confirmation from the NIAAA that John VanFleet will be the national Frank Kovoleski Award winner this year.
FRANK KOVALESKI PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT AWARD was established by the NIAAA Board of Directors at the recommendation of the Awards Committee in 2007 is presented to a recipient who possesses and has contributed to the vision of Professional Development – the legacy of Frank Kovaleski. Frank was instrumental in the creation of the Leadership Training Program and the expansion of the Certification Program of the NIAAA. The Frank Kovaleski Award is presented annually to an NIAAA member who has made significant contributions and demonstrated excellence in professional development at the local, state and national levels
Congratulations to John on his honor. Well deserved. John is only the 4th person in teh coutry to win this award. Start making your plans now for the NIAAA banquet in Orlando.
